What is a Lightning Page?

Lightning Pages are a type of customizable user interface that are designed to provide a more intuitive and visually appealing way for users to interact with their data and perform tasks within Salesforce. They empower organizations to create tailored, efficient, and responsive experiences for their users, ultimately leading to improved productivity and user satisfaction.

Using Lightning Pages in Salesforce offers several key benefits compared to traditional page layouts:

How to Create a Lightning Record Page

Use the Lightning App Builder to add, remove, or reorder components on a record page to give users a customized view for each object’s records. Below are steps to create and edit pages:

  1. Create a record page for Lightning Experience in one of these ways.

    1. From the Setup menu on a record page, select Edit Page.

    2. Create a page from the Lightning App Builder list page in Setup. Enter App Builder in the Quick Find box, then select Lightning App Builder, click New, and step through the page creation wizard.

    3. Clone an existing custom Lightning page from its detail page or from the Lightning page list in Setup.

    4. Click New Page from the Pages list inside the Lightning App Builder.

  2. In the Lightning App Builder, add, edit, or remove components to change the page’s layout. Reorder components by dragging them around the canvas.

  3. In the page properties, give your customized page a unique, descriptive label.

  4. Save your page.

  5. Activate the page from the Save dialog when you save it for the first time or later using the Activation button.


How to Assign Lightning Pages to Profiles and Apps:

You can change the default Lightning Page Assignment for other apps by following the below instructions:

  1. Navigate to Setup

  2. Navigate to Lightning App Builder

  3. Click on Swantide Opportunity Page

  4. Click Edit

  5. Click Activation

  6. Click App, Record Type, And Profiles

  7. Select all the apps where this page layout should apply

  8. Click Next

  9. Click Next

  10. Click Master

  11. Select all Profiles where this change should apply

  12. Review and Save
