Salesforce does not have limits to the number or type of Accounts that a User can own. Some sales teams may want to implement limits to evenly distribute accounts across the sales team. We’ve found that such restrictions are often overkill with <10 sales reps, but can be useful in larger sales teams if there are issues with fairly assigning Account ownership Some common limits we’ve seen here include:

  • Limit the total number of non-customer Accounts that a sales rep can own

  • Limit the number of Tier 1/Tier 2 accounts that a sales rep can own.

By default, this workflow will revert account ownership to Swantide if account ownership is transferred to a user exceeding the pre-defined limits. This can be updated to route to a different User if preferable. Please indicate in your request which User should assume ownership when an Account is transferred to someone over the limit.
