This Swantide Workflow is designed to align ownership seamlessly between Accounts and Opportunities. It activates when an Opportunity is created or when the Opportunity Owner is updated and the Owner of the Account does not match the Owner of the Opportunity, thus ensuring that if the Opportunity Owner is different from the Account Owner, the Account Owner is automatically updated to match the Opportunity Owner. This synchronization guarantees uniform ownership throughout.

The workflow can be executed multiple times, allowing you to apply it to various Opportunity Types based on your specific criteria for when you want ownership alignment between Account and Opportunity records.

The key to customizing this workflow lies in your selection of Variable Inputs, particularly concerning the Opportunity Type that triggers this workflow. For instance, you might set the workflow to trigger only when the Opportunity Type is "New Business," ensuring that Account Ownership is transferred to the Opportunity Owner only under these conditions."

Variable Input:

What this would look like in Salesforce:

Here I have an Account that is owned by "Ryan Baer" in Salesforce. When I create a "New Business" Opportunity, this Account Ownership will be transferred to me [Andrew Tzikas] as I am the created of the Opportunity.

Once I hit "Save" the Account will now be in my name [Andrew Tzikas]

This also applied on Opportunity Ownership on Update. if I changed the Opportunity Owner from Andrew Tzikas to Ryan Baer, he will now own the Account.

You can also use this workflow in tandem with another workflow we have called:
โ€‹Update Open Opportunity Ownership to New Account Owner on Account Ownership Change

To have Open Opportunities to be updated when an Account Owner is Changed.
