Email Syncing

Salesforce natively syncs emails through its Einstein Activity Capture feature. Emails are displayed on the activity feed of the associated Account and Contact, alongside calendar events, tasks, and other activities. In order for Einstein Activity Capture to work, you will need to:

  • Have access to the Einstein Activity Capture Permission Set (Swantide will configure this for you)

  • Connect your inbox to Salesforce

  • Make sure the person you're communicating with has been added as a Contact in Salesforce. If you want emails to display on an Opportunity record, make sure that Contact is added to the Opportunity as a Contact role.

If you're using Einstein to sync emails, Salesforce has a native Activity Dashboard that will show metrics like emails, calls, and tasks completed by all of the members of your sales team.

Alternatively, if you use an email tool like Outreach to send emails, you can integrate that tool with Salesforce to pass emails in. Outreach emails are technically created as tasks in Salesforce, which allow for slightly more robust and flexible reporting capabilities. Swantide's Activity SDR Dashboard (available only if you use a third-party tool to sync emails rather than the native Einstein Activity Capture) will summarize activity metrics, such as the number of calls and emails sent by your sales team.

Activity Syncing

  • Activities in Salesforce also include calendar events, tasks, and calls. Swantide has a number of workflows that enable better analysis of activities:

    • Activity Coverage Dashboard

    • Pull date of last meeting and display on a record

    • Pull date of first email (if using Outreach)

    • Count # of events on opportunities
